Open the Monitor Settings
-
Navigate to the Connection section. Set Automatic to No then you should see a field labelled RTSP Transport.
- If this field does not appear you may toggle Simple to Advanced in the bottom right corner.
-
RTSP Transport has 3 possible choices :
- TCP : The default choice that Shinobi uses and that works for most modern cameras.
- UDP : A less reliable protocol for data transfer. It may cause artifacts in the video streams and recorded footage. Some cameras only provided data over this protocol by default and need to have TCP enabled.
- Auto : Will attempt UDP first and may try TCP.
UDP Should only be used if the network connection between Camera and Shinobi server are reliable. Any flakiness in the connection will be present in the video data.
